Using the F3 instead of the Hasselblad also allows me to shoot faster, to shoot more and to capture some situations harder to accomplish with a medium format camera.

I've used them heavily since 1984, I have one of my own, and if it ever broke I'd replace it with another without a second thought. This Nikon MD-4 motor drive is for use with Nikon F3HP, F3/T and F3 SLR cameras. Then Nikon went on to manufacture the F3 for a whopping 21 years.
I was drawn back to the F3 almost by a process of elimination - I tried an F4… too big, too bulky and festooned with features that I wouldn’t use… F5 too modern (I don’t own any AF lenses) F6… too expensive… I bought an F90X for a cheap auto wind on body and I like using it but I was still looking for something… I considered the original F body but I wasn't feeling that so if I wanted another top spec Nikon body that only left the F3…. The sketch: introduced in 1980 to succeed the venerable F2, the F3 required batteries to operate (two LR44 or SR44 button cells), which initially alienated most photographers, who trusted all-manual cameras.
